Well today I met an incredible. I will explain to you all what an incredible is in terms of the Boeing culture. Back in the 60s, a small and dedicated group of very smart aircraft designers migrated up to Everett, Washington to begin building the largest commercial airliner ever built. The Boeing 747. It was an youthful age, and no one had ever done this before. They worked miracles. They transformed Boeing. They designed the 747. The create EICAS. They revolutionized Flight Decks from the old airliners in the high tech integrated machines you see today. They wrote the BOEING FLIGHT DECK DESIGN PHILOSOPHY and wore hard hats while working, because the office buildings were being BUILT around them for the 747. They were an amazing group of Engineers. They were the incredibles. A retired man named Jeff Ohlson came to visit me today. He was part of that. He is Mr. Flight Deck. He is sort of like a god in Flight Deck History. It's pretty cool to be able to meet him. You know what is even better? He is a golden gopher. He and I chatted up about the University of Minnesota and all sorts of good things. I got some good advice from him, and asked him some strange questions like, why do all Boeing aircraft models all contain "7"s (727, 737, 747, 757, 767, 777, 787). Answer to come.
Well, I also met the most senior person that I have met thus far. His name was Doug Bain, and he is the head lawyer for the whole Boeing Company. That's right! Chief Legal Counsel of Boeing. I'm not talking about Boeing Commercial Airplanes, this is the head of the ENTIRE Boeing law. Commercial Airplanes in Washington is just a division of Boeing. This dude was from Chicago. I got to meet him and ask him a few questions. It was pretty cool. Nice guy.
Well, other than that, I have been doing super. The weather is beautiful out here in the Pacific NW. It is picture perfect. Sunny warm days, not a cloud in the sky, no humidity, no bugs, and is about 72 degrees. It's amazing. On the other hand, I"m looking forward to coming back to school. Should be a blast this fall! Hehehehe! I'm going to Canada tomorrow! Finally! It's about time! It's a whole....um 4 days! damn! Too long! Well, I gotta go. Catch ya all later.
Adios.

2. We have 34 Starbucks on each floor of the Office, and each one is opened by a large mechanical flying scissors that some engineer in Aero Systems with too much time on his hands designed....
3. I have enthusiasm. Yup! If I didn't I'd be one of those sad cases of people who show up for work and watch the clock all day waiting to go home. There are people here who do that. Pisses me off. Get a career you're going to be happy in dammit.
4. hmmmmm....I don't have anything for this one....hehehehe
